MIDTOWN — A broken rail at Grand Street caused major service disruptions ahead of the Thursday evening rush hour on the B and D lines, according to the MTA.

B train service was suspended between DeKalb Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard in both directions.

Northbound B trains were running on the R line from Atlantic Avenue to Whitehall Street-South Ferry, where service was terminating.

Southbound D trains stopped at West 4th Street and northbound trains were running over the Q line from Coney Island to 57th Street-7th Avenue.

F and M trains were also running with delays.

Workers were busy trying to repair the rail, but it was not immediately clear when full service would resume, an MTA spokesman said.
