MIDTOWN — Police are hunting for a sneaky thief who snatched $80,000 worth of diamond earrings from a Diamond District dealer last week while workers were distracted with other customers, the NYPD said.

The heist, in the crowded Diamonds by Siag store at 13 W. 47th St., near Fifth Avenue, was captured on surveillance video.

On Dec. 29, around 1:20 p.m., the suspect, wearing a hat that says "Fame" on it, can be seen waltzing into the store and looking around, according to the video.

Then, he can be seen at the front of the store snatching the tray of earrings off a shelf and walking out while staff were distracted, hiding the baubles in his jacket.

The suspect was seen wearing a black and white hat, a black jacket and gray sweatpants, according to surveillance video.

An employee at Diamonds by Siag declined to comment.
