BROOKLYN — A gunman pumped round after round into the front door of a Bed-Stuy apartment with nine people inside before banging on it with his fist and running away, police said.
Dramatic video of the Nov. 17 incident shows the shooter, clad in a black hoodie, race up the stairs of the Malcolm X Boulevard building, near Bainbridge Street, to the landing about 6:30 p.m., draw his handgun and fire multiple times into the metal door before fleeing, NYPD sources said.
A family of nine was inside the apartment at the time but were unharmed, an NYPD spokesman said.
It was not immediately clear why he shot the door, the spokesman added.
The shooter was described as standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 170 pounds, police said.
