Service Changes Planned for 15 Subway Lines This Weekend

MIDTOWN — Service changes are slated to impact 15 subway lines this weekend as the MTA continues its widespread work.

Here’s a breakdown by line:

2 Line: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 2 trains will not run in Brooklyn. The 5 train will be available as an alternative between Brooklyn College and East 180th Street. 2 trains will run between East 180th Street and Chambers Street and will be rerouted via the 1 line between Chambers and Rector streets.

3 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 3 trains will not run in Brooklyn. Take the 4 train instead. 3 train service operates express all weekend between Harlem-148th Street and 14th Street.

4 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 4 trains will be extended to New Lots Avenue and 4 trains will replace 3 trains this weekend and will run local in Brooklyn.

5 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 5 trains will be suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street. Free shuttle buses will make stops at Baychester Avenue, Gun Hill Road, Pelham Parkway and Morris Park.

6 Line: Until February 2015, 6 trains will skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions.

For service to/from Zerega Avenue, use the Bx4 or shuttle buses to connect between Zerega Avenue and Castle Hill Avenue. Free transfer is available with a MetroCard.

For service to/from Buhre Avenue, use the Bx8, Bx24 or shuttle buses to connect between Buhre Avenue and Middletown Road. Free transfer is available with a MetroCard.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6 trains will run express from Hunts Point Avenue to 3rd Avenue-138th Street.

7 Line: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 7 trains will be suspended between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza. Use E, F, N and Qs between Manhattan and Queens. Free shuttle buses make all stops between Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue and Queensboro Plaza. The 42nd Street shuttle will operate overnight. Q service is extended to Ditmars Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

A Line: Until January 2015, Inwood-bound A train will skip 104th Street and 88th Street.

For service to 104th Street, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to an Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train. For service from 104th Street, take an Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 111th Street or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

For service to 88th Street, take the Brooklyn-bound A train to 80th Street and transfer to a Rockaway-Mott Avenue or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train. For service from 88th Street, take a Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Queens-bound A trains will run express from 145th Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle.

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, Inwood-bound A trains will run local from Canal Street to 168th Street.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn-bound A trains will skip 104th Street and 111th Street. For service to this station, use the Q112 bus or take a Brooklyn-bound A to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to a Lefferts-bound A trains. For service from this station, take a Lefferts-bound A trains to Lefferts and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A trains.

C Line: From 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Brooklyn-bound C trains will run express from 145th Street to Columbus Circle.

D Line: From 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Norwood-bound D trains will run express from 145th Street to Tremont Avenue.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound D trains will be rerouted on the N line from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.

From 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, D trains will run local between DeKalb Avenue and 36th Street.

F Line: From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Jamaica-bound F trains will be rerouted via the M line from Rockefeller Center to Roosevelt Avenue.

J Line: From 5:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, J trains will be suspended between Hewes Street and Essex Street in both directions. Free shuttles will provide alternate service between Hewes Street and Essex Street, stopping at Marcy Avenue. For direct service between Brooklyn and Manhattan, the A, C and L lines are available at Broadway Junction.

M Line: From 5:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, M trains will be suspended between Myrtle Avenue and Essex Street in both directions. Take the J or L trains or free shuttle buses instead. Free shuttle buses provide alternate service between Hewes and Essex streets, stopping at Marcy Avenue. For direct service to/from Manhattan, use the L train via transfer at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues.

N Line: From 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, N trains will run local from DeKalb Avenue to 59th Street.

Q Line: From 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 57th Street-7th Avenue-bound Q trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park.

From 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Q trains will be extended to Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard.

42nd Street Shuttle: From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday, the 42nd Street shuttle will operate overnight.
