MORRIS HEIGHTS — A Bronx man met with his killer at a local bodega Wednesday night before he was shot, police said.

Cesar Suero, 39, was shot in the leg and torso about 5 p.m. near 1538 University Ave, after he was seen walking out of the store, talking to the suspect, according to the NYPD.

Suero was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators did not know what the conversation was about or if the suspect knew Suero.

There have been no arrests and police are looking for a 25- to 30-year-old man wearing multicolored sneakers, black pants and a green hooded sweatshirt. Police said he was spotted leaving a dark colored SUV.

Suero had a lengthy criminal history, with 20 arrests dating back to a 1992 robbery. He had also been arrested for grand larceny and bail jumping, and his most recent unsealed charge was on Oct. 29 for turnstile jumping.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577.
