WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A man was injured in a Saturday morning shooting that police believe was drug-related, the NYPD said.

The 31-year-old victim struck on the left side of his body outside of 473 W. 158th St. shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday morning, police said.

He was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, the NYPD said.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, police added.

Authorities believe the shooting was related to the fact that the victim had drugs on him at the time, the NYPD said. Police did not say the type or quantity of drugs the man had on him.

The suspect is described as 25 to 30 years old, wearing a dark green bubble coat, a hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap at the time of the shooting, the NYPD said.

No arrests have been made.

As of Nov. 2, shooting incidents in the 33rd Precinct were down significantly, with two incidents recorded so far this year compared to six for the same time period last year, NYPD data shows.

Police believe that another recent shooting on West 163rd Street was also related to drugs.
