SOHO — A thief smashed a Louis Vuitton storefront window with a glass wine bottle over the weekend and stole a $5,159 bag from the display, police said.

The suspect slammed the bottle into one of the large display windows of SoHo’s Louis Vuitton store at 116 Greene St. about 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 2, grabbed the pricey bag and fled, according to a police report.

A piece of plywood still covered a portion of the storefront on Tuesday afternoon. Louis Vuitton did not immediately return a request for comment.

Police had not made any arrests as of Tuesday.
