QUEENS — Foodies will soon get a chance to participate in the first-ever food crawl in Forest Hills, an event organizers call “a culinary journey" through the neighborhood complete with dishes like pickled pepper wings and fried cheesecake.

The crawl, scheduled for Nov. 12, will feature dishes from three popular restaurants that are located within three blocks, according to the Forest Hills Chamber of Commerce.

The event, which will last from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and cost $55 (plus tax and gratuity), will begin at gastropub Forest Hills Station House on Continental Avenue, where diners will be served appetizers including short rib kimchi empanadas, skillet meatballs, flatbreads and pickled pepper wings.

Foodies will then move to Banter, an Irish pub on Queens Boulevard, to taste fish and chips, beef and Guinness pie, baby back ribs, pan-seared chicken breast and pan-roasted salmon.

The crawl will end at Exo Cafe on Austin Street, where participants will savor desserts such as fried cheesecake, mango guava cheesecake, tiramisu, red velvet cake and raspberry lemon drop.

The goal, organizers said, is to provide local foodies with a unique dining experience.

“And you are in Forest Hills, which is a great area to walk around,” said Mirielle Maor of the chamber.

Steve Elkins, one of the owners of Forest Hills Station House, said he embraced the idea because it's a way of promoting the neighborhood. "And I'm a neighborhood kind of guy," he said.

Maor said that in the future the Forest Hills Chamber of Commerce is planning to organize more food crawls, including one in the Metropolitan Avenue area.
