NEW DORP — A cashier at a Staten Island TJ Maxx handed customers more than $6,000 in free clothes, prosecutors said.

Eriola Krliu, 19, of Grant City, was arrested inside the store at 2530 Hylan Blvd. on Friday after telling customers they didn't need to pay for their purchases, court papers read.

It's not clear if the people given the clothes were known to Krliu. None of the customers have been apprehended.

The cashier voided transactions six times between August and September, letting people leave with merchandise worth between $370.84 and $1,534.42, court papers said.

She was charged with several counts of grand larceny and petit larceny at her arraignment on Saturday, according to the District Attorney's office. She was released without bail and is due back in court on Nov. 18.

Police saw Brian Pipkin, 41, with a Springfield semi-automatic pistol inside his waistband in front of 256 Charles Ave. a little after midnight on Saturday, according to court papers.

Pipkin ran into a second floor apartment in the building and was caught by police hiding inside a closet, court papers read.

He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon at his arraignment on Sunday, according to the District Attorney's office. He's being held on a $25,000 cash bail and is due back in court on Thursday.

Pipkin also served jail time in 2012 after he was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon on Staten Island, according to court papers.

► Two Staten Island teens broke into cars and stole iPods, prosecutors said.

Zai Smith, 16, of Port Richmond, and Austin Borrome, 16, of Stapleton, were arrested on Saturday for taking several iPods from cars in Huguenot, court papers said.

Police found Smith and Borrome standing together at a train station and found a 160 GB iPod Classic reported stolen the previous day inside a bag on the top of a trash can, court papers said.

Smith told the officer that "I took the iPods from the cars. They are not mine," according to court papers. Borrome told police, "We were going through cars. We've done it before."

Police also found a 32 GB iPod Touch on Borrome, court papers read.

Both were charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny at a Sunday arraignment, according to the District Attorney's office. They were released without bail and are due back in court on Oct. 21.
