CHELSEA — A man tried to make off with several outfits from a Buffalo Exchange and then threatened employees with scissors when they tried to stop him from leaving without paying, the NYPD said.

Terrance Avery, 35, lifted numerous pairs of pants, shirts, a hat and sneakers from the shelves of the Buffalo Exchange at 114 W. 26th St. and put them into a black luggage bag at 5:51 p.m. on Sept. 15, police said.

When store security tried to stop him from leaving the store with the suitcase, Avery brandished a pair of scissors and began waving it in the faces of three employees, police said.

“You’re going to stop. You’re making me angry,” Avery said to the staffers before fleeing the store, according to police.

Police arrested Avery outside of the store. He was charged with robbery, menacing, possession of a weapon and possession of stolen property, according to the criminal complaint from the Manhattan District Attorney's office.

His attorney did not immediately respond to request for comment. Avery is due back in court on Oct. 22, according to the DA's office.
