QUEENS — Police are searching for a man who punched a subway rider in the face without saying a word on an R train platform in Rego Park last month.

According to the NYPD, the victim, a 20-year-old man, was on the Manhattan-bound train on Aug. 23 around 11:45 a.m.

When the doors opened at the 63rd Drive station, the victim was punched once in the mouth and the nose by a stranger who was standing on the platform, according to the police.

No words were exchanged between the two men before the attack, authorities said.

The suspect then fled on foot to the street, police said.

The victim suffered a bloody nose and a cut on his upper lip, police said, but was not hospitalized after the incident.

No arrests have been made, officials said.

Police described the suspect as being in his late 20s or in his 30s around 5-foot-7 and weighing about 170 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a pink short sleeve polo shirt as well as white, pink and gray striped shorts with a white string. He also had a book bag, police said.
