Service Changes Planned for 14 Subway Lines This Weekend

MIDTOWN — Service changes are set to hit 14 lines from Friday night to Monday morning.

Here’s a breakdown by line:

2 and 3 Line: From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, 2 trains will run local in both directions between 96th Street and Times Square due to cable work at 72nd Street.

4 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn-bound 4 trains will run express from Grand Central to Union Square.

From 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn-bound 4s will run local from 125th Street to Grand Central due to cable work south of 125th Street.

5 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 5s are suspended between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street due to signal modernization. Free shuttle buses will operate between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street.

6 Line: Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Saturday until February 2015, 6 trains will skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions due to station rehabilitation work.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to Monday, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains will run express from Hunts Point Avenue to Parkchester due to track tie renewal south of Whitlock Avenue and track panel installation north of Elder Avenue.

From 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, 6s will run every 16 minutes between 3rd Avenue-138th Street and Pelham Bay Park due to track tie renewal south of Whitlock Avenue and track panel installation north of Elder Avenue. The last stop for some Pelham Bay Park-trains is 3rd Avenue-138th Street.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn-bound 6 trains will run express from Grand Central to Union Square.

From 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn-bound 4 trains will run local from 125th Street to Grand Central due to cable work south of 125th Street.

A Line: At all times until later in the month, Far Rockaway/Lefferts Boulevard-bound As will skip 88th Street, and Lefferts Boulevard-bound As will skip 104th Street due to stations renewals at 88th Street and 104th Street.

For service to 88th Street, take the A to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A. For service from 88th Street, take a Brooklyn-bound A to 80th Street and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A.

For service to 104th Street, take the Lefferts Boulevard-bound A to Lefferts Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A. For service from 104th Street, take the Q112 bus or take the A to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A.

E Line: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to Monday, Jamaica-bound E trains will be rerouted on the F from West 4th Street to 21st Street-Queensbridge due to tie installation at Court Square-23rd Street. Free shuttle buses will run between Court Square and Queensbridge, stopping at Queens Plaza.

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, Jamaica Center-bound E trains will run local in Queens due to rail and tie installation north of Queens Plaza.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, World Trade Center-bound Es will run express from Jamaica-Van Wyck to Queens Plaza due to Queens Boulevard Signals tunnel lighting north of 65th Street and rail installation at Briarwood-Van Wyck Boulevard.

F Line: From 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound F trains are rerouted on the M line from Roosevelt Avenue to 47-50th Streets-Rockfeller Center due to Second Avenue Subway related work.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound F trains will skip Sutphin Boulevard, Van Wyck Boulevard and 75th Avenue because of rail installation at Briarwood-Van Wyck Boulevard.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound F trains will skip 4th Avenue-9th Street, 15th Street-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway due to work.

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, 179th Street-bound F trains will run local in Queens due to rail and tie installation north of Queens Plaza.

G Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Church Avenue-bound G trains will skip 4th Avenue-9th Street, 15th Street-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway.

J and M Lines: From 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and from 8:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Chambers Street-bound J trains will skip Flushing Avenue, Lorimer Street and Hewes Street due to track cleaning and maintenance south of Lorimer Street and Hewes Street.

From 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Chambers Street-bound J trains will skip Chauncey Street, Halsey Street, Gates Avenue and Kosciuszko Street due to rail replacement work.

N Line: From 5:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Coney Island-bound N trains will be rerouted via the D line from 36th Street to Coney Island due to installation of contact rail heaters south of 59th Street.

Q Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound Q trains will run express from Kings Highway to Sheepshead Bay due to track work at Sheepshead Bay.

R Line: From 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Bay Ridge-bound R trains will run express from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Queens Plaza because of signal and lighting work north of 65th Street.

At all times until October, there are no N or R trains running between Court Street in Brooklyn and Whitehall Street in Manhattan.
