GREAT KILLS — An annual series of free outdoor moving screening will kick off on Friday with "The Lego Movie" in Seaside Wildlife Nature Park, Great Kills, and show three other flicks this month, including the classic time travel film "Back to the Future."

The film festival, started in 2005 by Councilman Vincent Ignizio, and includes free inflatable rides, cotton candy, and popcorn set up before the screenings.

It gives residents the opportunity to have fun with their children, watch great movies and spend time with their neighbors in a beautiful setting – all free of charge,” Ignizio said in a release.

The schedule for the other screenings in the month-long festival include:

► Sept. 12: "E.T. the Extra Terrestrial" at Bloomingdale Park
► Sept. 19: "Back to the Future" at Lemon Creek Park
► Sept. 26: "Frozen" at Conference House Park

The free event starts at 6 p.m., with the films starting at dusk, Ignizio said.

Like previous years, Ignizio requests that movie goers come with a can of food to donate to local food pantries, and suggest they bring blankets or chairs to watch the show.
