CROWN HEIGHTS — Police are searching for a man they say groped and threatened a 13-year-old girl outside of a bodega, where she later snapped a photo of her attacker before a store worker threw him out.

The girl was standing on the corner of Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway around 9 p.m. on a Wednesday night when a man between the ages of 25 and 30 tried to talk to the teen, who refused to speak with him and walked into a nearby bodega, police said.

The man then pulled the girl outside of the store, pretending he had a gun while touching her breasts and backside, according to police in the 71st Precinct. She then ran back into the store and took a photo of the man with her phone, which shows the suspect standing just inside a bodega’s open door.

A worker kicked the man out of the store following the attack, police said.

Police said the man stands between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9  and weights about 160 pounds. At the time of the June 4 incident, the man was wearing ripped jeans, a white T-shirt and a blue Kansas City Royals baseball hat.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
