FORT WADSWORTH — A man tried to hold up a Staten Island deli at gunpoint but fled before the worker could hand over any cash, according to the NYPD.

The suspect walked into the All in One Deli, at 1386 Bay St., armed with a gun and demanded money from the worker around 10:16 p.m. Saturday, police said.

But before the worker could give him anything, the suspect fled, police said.

Police described the would-be robber as 5-foot-11 inches, 200 pounds and about 30 years old.

Anyone with information about this attempted robbery is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
