CROWN HEIGHTS — A Bloods member was arrested for participating in the fatal attack on a Crips gang member earlier this month that was captured on video, police said.

Khadeem Anderson, 24, of Crown Heights, was arrested July 17 and charged with gang assault for the death of Lovelt Valentin, 23, who was stabbed 18 times on Utica Avenue between Union and President streets on July 5, police said.

Anderson, who police said is a known member of the Bloods gang, told investigators that he was one of the people captured in surveillance video of the attack.

Additionally, police said a witness to the stabbing later saw Anderson washing blood off his hands, which the 24-year-old admitted to doing, according to police.

Anderson confessed to punching Valentin, police said, but not to using a knife or another weapon against him.

The attack happened after an argument between Valentin, a known Crips member who was wearing gang colors at the time, and several Bloods, police said.

None of the other suspects have been arrested, police said.

Calls and emails to Anderson’s lawyer were not returned.
