MANHATTAN CRIMINAL COURT — The North Carolina mom arrested for abandoning her 11-month-old daughter on a Columbus Circle subway platform Monday has been indicted by a Manhattan grand jury, a judge announced Friday.

Frankea Aleasha-Dabbs, 20, was originally charged with abandonment of a child and acting in a manner injurious to a child after she confessed to leaving little Milini Edmonds in a stroller on the uptown 1 train platform and taking off Monday morning, police said.

Prosecutors would not say if new charges have been added in the indictment.

Police arrested Aleasha-Dabbs about 12 hours later after a Good Samaritan spotted her walking on 71st Street and Broadway and pointed her out to a police officer, law-enforcement sources said.

She told investigators she was overwhelmed by the amount of care the baby required, sources added.

Aleasha-Dabbs has been held on Rikers Island, but will be transferred to the prison ward at Elmhurst Hospital, Judge Lisa Sokoloff said.

She is due back in court July 30 for a Supreme Court arraignment.

Her lawyer, Kimberly Shubert, declined to comment.
