CORONA — A woman was raped as she walked home in Corona Tuesday, police said.

The suspect sprayed the victim in the face with an unknown substance before sexually assaulting her just before midnight July 8 on 45th Avenue, police said.

The victim tried to fight back by biting the suspect, who fled after the attack. She was brought to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition but has since been released, police said.

Police said the suspect is around 30-years-old, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8, 180 pounds and was wearing his hair in a ponytail.

He was last seen wearing black sweatpants and a white t-shirt, police said.
