BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Ready to roll, Brooklyn?
Brooklyn Bridge Park is opening its new full-sized roller skating rink at Pier 2 on Friday at 3 p.m. with a free three-hour skating session, officials announced.
The newest addition to the waterfront, operated by New York Skating LLC, will feature roller and in-line skating as well as roller hockey and roller derby.
The rink will be open throughout the week with a mix of public skating time for kids and adults and recreational league play.
Admission is priced between $3 and $8 for the general public hours, with free sessions from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to noon on Sundays. Tuesday and Sunday nights are reserved for adults over 21.
Saturday morning skating lessons will also be available at $10 a class.
Rollerblades and skates can either be brought to rink or rented for $6.
Pier 2 at Brooklyn Bridge Park officially opened in May with 5 acres of playgrounds, basketball, shuffleboard and bocce courts overlooking the waterfront.
