BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Summer is starting with a splash.

A pop-up pool at Brooklyn Bridge Park will officially open Friday with free swim sessions, a sandy “beach,” snacks and drinks, officials announced.

Now in its third year, the pool, located at Pier 2 of the waterfront park, will remain open every day from June 27 until Labor Day.

Swimmers can get their laps in during 45-minute sessions that begin on the hour between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The 30-by-50-foot pool is 3 1/2-feet deep and can hold a maximum of 60 people.

Interested parties should arrive about half an hour ahead of when they want to swim to receive a first-come, first-served wristband to enter the pool.

While the pool is free to use, swim lessons will also be available starting in July at a to-be-determined price, BBP spokeswoman Teresa Gonzalez said.

Along with the pool, a sandy “beach” will open on June 27. Lizzmonade Brooklyn, a concession stand, will open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., serving artisanal lemonade. After 6 p.m., sangria, beer and wine will be available.

The entrance to the pool is at Pier 1 at Old Fulton and Furman streets or from Squibb Park.
