Weekend Service Changes Planned for 11 Subway Lines

NEW YORK CITY — The MTA has announced weekend service changes to 11 lines.

Here’s the breakdown:

1 Train: South Ferry-bound trains will run express between Penn Station and Chambers Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

2 Train: Brooklyn-bound trains will run express between Penn Station and Chambers Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Saturday and again from 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

6 Train: Because of the 116th Street Parade on Saturday, people will not be allowed to enter 116th Street station from noon to 5 p.m. Because of the Puerto Rican Day Parade, customers will not be able to enter 77th Street station on Saturday between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.

7 Train: Service will be suspended between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza in both directions from 2 a.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Free shuttle busses will provide alternate service. Additionally, on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. the last stop on some trains headed to Queensboro Plaza will be 74th Street-Broadway.

A Train: All weekend, Rockaway-bound trains will skip 88th Street. Lefferts Boulevard-bound trains will skip 104th Street.

F Train: Coney Island-bound trains will skip Sutphin Boulevard, Briarwood-Van Wyck Boulevard, and 75th Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday. Jamaica-bound trains will run express between Avenue X and Jay Street-Metro Tech from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.

G Train: Trains in both directions will be suspended between Church Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Q Train: Coney Island-bound trains will run express between Newkirk Avenue and Kings Highway from 11:45 p.m. Friday and 9 p.m. Sunday. They will also skip Parkside Avenue, Beverly Road and Cortelyou Road during the entire weekend. Service will extend to Astoria Ditmars Boulevard Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Times Square Shuttle: The shuttle will operate overnight from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.

N Train: Trains will not run between Court Street and Whitehall Street. There will be no trains at Jay Street-Metro Tech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortlandt Street and City Hall.

R Train: Trains will not run between Court Street and Whitehall Street. There will be no trains at Jay Street-Metro Tech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortlandt Street, and City Hall.
