DUMBO — The architects behind the 9/11 Museum entrance pavilion are designing a restaurant and retail space planned for an empty parking lot near the former Watchtower Buildings in DUMBO, according to community leaders and property records.

Snohetta architects are set to design the one-story building with 5,776-square-foot glass and steel structure for 20 Old Fulton St. near the waterfront, according to an application is currently pending with the Department of Buildings. The planned structure is similiar to many of the firm's other projects.

The landmarked property was once home to The Landing hot dog stand and had also been considered  at one time for a flea market, according to Curbed.

Snohetta and the property owner, Richard Mauro, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
