BRONX — Puerto Ricans will have a chance to celebrate their heritage this weekend at the borough's annual Puerto Rican Day Parade.

The parade kicks off at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Grand Concourse and 192nd Street and goes to Van Cortlandt Avenue East. More than 100 groups from across the city will march, along with representatives from Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and South America.

The theme for this year's parade is Puerto Rican folkloric culture, according to News 12 Bronx. The celebration will include music, dancing, food and drinks and will be held rain or shine.

Parade President Ruben Rios said he was excited for the parade to display the solidarity between Latin Americans.

"It shows the unity that we have," he said.
