CORONA — A family-run Italian restaurant is prepping its new backyard "beer piazza" in time to show every World Cup match.

The Gigliotti family opened Cucino a Modo Mio on 108th Street last year, and dad Gregorio, 58, and son Andreas, 27, are putting the finishing touches on a backyard barbecue and beer hangout.

The family "just wants to give a home feeling" of their hometown in Calabria, Italy, Andreas said. They hope to have a soft opening this weekend and expect to be fully open in time for the soccer tournament, which kicks off June 12.

More than 15 varieties of pizza will be cooked up in a wood-fired oven imported from Italy and they'll also serve steaks, sausage and peppers and ribs on the grill, they said.

Four beer styles are on tap and the bar will also serve homemade wine, which the family made last summer in the backyard before turning it into a garden.

There will also be four flat-screen TVs to show every World Cup match.

"It's relaxing," the younger Gigliotti said. "Watch a game, hang out, have pizza."

The outdoor fence is adorned with photos of Italy's World Cup champion teams — and the family hopes to add even more photos after this year's tournament.

Andreas predicts the young Italian squad will win the whole thing this year.

"We're going all the way this year," he said. "No one is stopping us."

The Cucino a Modo Mio "beer piazza," 51-01 108th St., will be open for games starting June 12. Regular hours will be Tuesday through Sunday, 4-11 p.m.
