BROOKLYN — A Bay Ridge father fatally stabbed his wife and slashed his son who tried to stop the deadly attack early Tuesday morning, sources said.
Hasan Rugova, 52, was fighting with his 46-year-old wife Gyltene Rugova inside 101 Marine Ave., near Ridge Boulevard, when he stabbed her in the neck about 2:21 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said.
Their son, 14, was slashed on his right forearm when he tried to break up the fight, sources said. The dad was also stabbed in the stomach, a wound investigators believe was self-inflicted, sources added.
Gyltene was pronounced dead at the scene, but Hasan and their son were taken to Lutheran hospital and listed in stable condition, police said.
The couple just opened a pizzeria Monday at 4th Avenue and 91st Street, the Daily News reported.
Hasan was charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, assault and endangering the welfare of a child
It was not immediately clear what sparked the dispute.
