INWOOD — Modular doesn't have to mean modest.

Apartments in Inwood's prefabricated apartment building, located near Academy Street at 4857 Broadway, are finally available for rent and each unit comes with a host of amenities.

Tenants in the 28-unit building, which hit the market early this month, will get access to a virtual doorman, private tenant and bicycle storage, an outdoor terrace, mosaic-tiled bathrooms, maple kitchen cabinets and light-filled rooms with their choice of concrete or wood flooring, plus tenant-controlled heat and air conditioning.

Clifford Finn, executive vice president at Douglas Elliman Development, the building's realtor, predicted that The Stack would be in high demand.

“The Stack is modern in its modular approach and speaks to an audience that appreciates its innovative design," he said. "We expect to have tremendous interest among renters with this property.”

The apartments won't come cheap, though. Prices start at $1,755 for a studio and increase to $2,400 for a one-bedroom, $2,850 for a two-bedroom and $3,990 for a three-bedroom. Six units are marked for affordable housing and will be awarded to the winners of a lottery that accepted applications last month.

A rent-regulated one-bedroom will only cost $909 per month, and a two-bedroom will rent for $1,060.

The Stack was developed by Jeffrey Brown and Kimberly Frank and designed by Gluck+. The 38,000-square-foot building was fabricated in Pennsylvania before being shipped to Inwood in 56 pieces. It was assembled in 19 days last summer.

Prospective tenants can expect to move into The Stack next month. For more information, visit www.thestacknyc.com.
