UPPER EAST SIDE — High-end jeweler Paul Morelli is joining the swanky set on Madison Avenue.

Paul Morelli recently signed a lease at 895 Madison Ave., at the corner of Madison Avenue and 72nd Street, said broker Faith Hope Consolo of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group. The space, which offers nearly 2,000 square feet, used to be home to Galo ShoesThis will be the first New York City store for the jeweler, which has maintained a presence at Bergdorf Goodman since 1981.

Paul Morelli will join other renowned jewelers including Buccellati, Cartier, GraffKentshire and Kwiat on the tony avenue. The Philadelphia-based designer also has collections in upscale shops around the world, including Harrods, Holt Renfrew and Neiman Marcus.

Galo Shoes moved out of the space about two months ago, the company said. Paul Morelli did not immediately return a request for comment.

The store offers a wide range of jewelry styles including simple, foundational pieces such as diamond-encrusted band and more unique looks like his recent line of pieces made with Buddhist meditation bells. All of the pieces, which range from about $1,500 to upwards of $150,000, are made in Morelli’s Philadelphia studio.

"Paul Morelli was primed for his own signature store in the city," said Consolo, who oversaw the deal. "This location is absolutely ideal because it is a destination for the world's most sought-after brands."
