BOERUM HILL — Brides and grooms are heading back to Atlantic Avenue next month for fashion, food and drink at Brooklyn’s Wedding Expo.

From florists to bakers to dress designers, more than 20 local businesses along the commercial corridor will be featured at the Brooklyn Wedding Expo on April 13.

The merchants, who specialize in almost every wedding need, including flowers, wine, fragrances, cakes, salons and fashion, will show off their wares and expertise at the event, said Josef Szende,  an executive director at the Atlantic Avenue Business Improvement District, the expo’s organizer.

“Atlantic Avenue is a wedding district,” said Szende of the area that spans Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights.

“You’re really getting a neighborhood-produced event.”

More than 100 people are expected to attend the expo, which will be hosted at Deity, a wedding venue at 368 Atlantic Ave. in Boerum Hill.

Guests can sample food and drink, explore the event hall and talk to vendors, each of whom will have a table dedicated to their work.

The event will also feature a wedding fashion show with dresses from Kimera, Michelle New York Brides and Veka Bridal as well as jewelry, hairdos and accessories. By Robert James, a men’s formal wear shop, will also be featured in the fashion show.

The event’s atmosphere will be relaxed but the level of quality and professionalism from the businesses will be high, Szende said.

“A real advantage of working with them is that they’ve all been doing this for decades,” Szende said. “They’re experts in their field.”

The Brooklyn Wedding Expo will be held April 13 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Deity (368 Atlantic Ave.) For tickets, visit this website.
