GOVERNORS ISLAND — A 38-foot hill lined with slides is rising on Governors Island.

Slide Hill, one of four grassy waterfront peaks planned for the Island, has already reached a height of 23 feet as construction work continues, the Trust for Governors Island announced on its blog this week.

The hill, made from recycled construction materials, will feature fours slides of various lengths — including one 48-foot-long slippery slope.

When completed, the Hills park will offer sweeping views of the Lower Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor.

The Hills, slated to be ready in spring 2015, will rise between 25 and 80 feet tall.

Workers broke ground on the $70 million project last July.
