Village Coffee Crawl Brews Up Deals at 12 Cafes

WEST VILLAGE — It's a cure for the daily grind.

The first-ever Village Coffee Crawl is kicking off in March, offering java junkies a half-priced cup of joe at any of 12 participating cafes and eateries.

Participants can pick up a "Crawl Card" from the Village Alliance at 8 E. Eighth St. between Fifth Avenue and University Place or print one out online to get the deal, which runs from March 8 - 16. 

The promotion includes Le Pain Quotidien on Eighth Street and Archie & Sons on Third Avenue, plus bakeries like Matsunosuke and even a yogurt shop.

The crawl is a collaboration between Stumptown Coffee Roasters and the Village Alliance. Stumptown, at 30 W. Eighth St. is also offering free coffee tastings at 2 p.m. during the promotion.

The Village Alliance is hopes the crawl will encourage people to try new places, like Iranian restaurant Cafe Nadery on Eighth Street.
