MANHATTAN — Police are looking for a man who robbed two banks in less than an hour over the weekend, making off with nearly $3,000.

The suspect started at Popular Community Bank, 134 Delancey St., at about 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, NYPD said. He passed a note to a teller, saying he had a gun and demanding $7,000, police said.

The suspect then headed to Capital One bank, 245 E. 34th St., at about 12:22 p.m., where he passed a similar note to the teller, demanding cash.

In both cases, the bank tellers complied, and the suspect fled with a total of $2,885.

There were no injuries, according to police.

Police described the suspect as a 5-foot-8 man, weighing 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray skull cap, black jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, black shoes and black sunglasses, police said.
