NEW YORK CITY — With plenty of downtime before New York Fashion Week shows and castings, models say it's a great time to put on some headphones and listen to their favorite jams.

"When I'm walking down the street, doing my castings, behind the scenes at a show — it's music all the time," Yulia Saparniiazova, 23, said Thursday on her way to the Desigual show.

Saparniiazova, who lives in the West Village, said she loves a dose of hip-hop in her native Russian tongue. At No. 1 on her playlist is "Bilo" by Noggano.

For model and Lower East Side resident Mick Szal, "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" by Tame Impala blocks out unwanted comments from men.

"It just takes you somewhere else," she said.

Check out this Spotify playlist of songs that keep models humming at New York Fashion Week:

"Mine" by Beyoncé featuring Drake

"If you take [Beyoncé's latest album] seriously, she is writing a lot about her husband and him maybe cheating on her," model Giedre Dukauskaite said Thursday following the BCBGMAXAZRIA runway show at Lincoln Center.

"Waves" by Mr. Probz

"You just have to listen to it and you feel it," Chelsea-based model Franzi Mueller, 22, said about Dutch hip-hop artist Mr. Probz.

"Do I Wanna Know?" by the Arctic Monkeys

"I love rock and roll at night, when I'm walking down the street," said Yumi Lambert, 18, who was on her way to hair and makeup for the Tadashi Shoji show at Lincoln Center.

"Bilo" by Noggano

"I like the beats," said model Yulia Saparniiazova of Russian hip-hop act Noggano.

"Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" by Tame Impala

"It keeps out the creeps and the catcalls," said Mick Szal, on her way to walk in the Desigual runway show.

"Last Dance" by Rhye

The R&B musical duo Rhye helps Williamsburg-based model Tess Hellfeuer, 20, get through early-morning castings.

"It's soft and nice for the mornings when you're not really awake yet," she said.

"Symphony No. 3 in F Major Op. 90" by Johannes Brahms

Classical music from her favorite composer puts model Larissa "Larry" Hofmann in a good mood.

"Everyone in the subway is all stress, but you're with your music," she said.

"Like a Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan

Model Ataui Deng, 21, said she loves Dylan for his stories. "He paints pictures in your mind."

"Tip Your Glass" by Two Fresh

"I'm learning to DJ, so I'm listening to music all day long," said model Jillian Billingham, 22, who lives in Williamsburg.
