JACKSON HEIGHTS — The mop-topped boys from Liverpool landed in Queens 50 years ago this weekend, and their epic arrival plays a big role in a short film set in 1964 Jackson Heights.

The writer and director of "Lovely Lily," the story of a lounge singer at the Cavalier Lounge on 37th Avenue, is hosting a special screening of the film at the Elmhurst Hospital auditorium on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The location of the screening, according to Celeste Balducci's blog, is perfect "just in case there are any fainting spells if Paul & Ringo show up."

Balducci began filming the movie in 2001, featuring familiar locations and local shopkeepers and neighbors, according to an article published more than decade ago.

''I think I've pretty much imposed on everyone,'' she said at the time.

She unveiled the feature-length version in 2009, but has edited it into a short film that highlights the fashion and music of the Beatlemania era.

While a recreation of 1960s Queens will be highlighted, the film also offers a peek into the changing face of 37th Avenue. The setting of the film, the Cavalier Restaurant, closed its doors in 2010, citing a spike in rent.

Music, dancing and light refreshments will also be served.
