Service Changes to Interfere With Nine Subway Lines this Weekend

BROOKLYN — It has been a brutal winter so far, but some good news is on the horizon. Temperatures will reach the low 40s this weekend and there will be fewer subway service disruptions.

Here is the breakdown:

2 Line: Trains will be rerouted over the 5 line between Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College and Eastchester Dyre Avenue from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10:00 p.m. Sunday. Service will operate in two sections:
• Between Flatbush Avenue and East 180th Street with connecting service to Dyre Avenue
• Between East 180th Street and 241st Street

Trains will also run express from Wakefield 241st Street to Gun Hill road from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

5 Line: Shuttle trains will be suspended between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street from 3:45 a.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday and from 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday. Riders can take the 2 train instead.

6 Line: Downtown trains will run express form Pelham Bay Park to Parkchester from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Trains are also skipping Middletown Road and Castle Hill Avenue in both directions at all times until May.

A Line: There will be no service between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Shuttle buses will make all stops between Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue and Beach 90th Street, where riders can transfer to the A.

Rockaway Shuttle: There will be no shuttle train service from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: Coney Island-bound trains will skip 4th Avenue-9th Street, 15th Street-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. For service to these stations riders can transfer from the F to a Queens-bound F or G train at Church Avenue or 7th Avenue.

G Line: Trains will run every 20 minutes between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues from 5 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday. Some Queens-bound trains will also make their last stop at Bedford-Nostrand. Riders will have to transfer at the station another Court Square-bound train.

Church Avenue-bound trains will also skip 4th Avenue-9th Street, 15th Street-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

N Line: Ditmars Boulevard-bound trains will be rerouted over the D express track from 36th Street in Brooklyn to Stillwell Avenue from 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

R Line: There are no trains between Court Street and Whitehall Street until October while repair work is done to the Montague Tube.

Weekend service will be rerouted over the Manhattan Bridge. There will be no R or N trains in either direction at Jay Street-Metro Tech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortlandt Street and City Hall.
