Police Searching for Pair Who Stole Tobacco from Staten Island Deli

ST. GEORGE — Police are looking for two men they believed broke into a deli in St. George and made off with more than $4,000 in tobacco and scratch cards.

On Jan. 18, two men entered a deli at 19 Fort Place through a rear window around 11:00 p.m., police said. The suspects took $3,300 worth of cigarettes, $1,000 worth of scratch lottery cards, $300 worth of cigars, $200 worth of rolled cigars and $300 cash, police said.

One suspect later redeemed some of the stolen tickets at 4185 White Plains Road in the Bronx, police said.

Police described the suspects as males with one last seen wearing a black hat with a white symbol on front and a brown winter jacket. The other man, of slim build, was last seen wearing a baseball hat, a diamond earring in his right ear and a down winter jacket, police said.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
