LONG ISLAND CITY — Police have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old Upper West Side musician who was killed near the Queensbridge Houses earlier this year.

Police say Lawrence Scott, 28, is wanted in connection to the killing of Francisco Leal, who was shot in the chest on Feb. 2 as he was leaving a store near 21st Street and 41st Avenue in Long Island City.

Leal, a musician, had grown up in the nearby Queensbridge Houses. His death prompted elected officials and local leaders to rally for an end to gun violence.

Police say Scott is 5 foot 6 and weighs 210 pounds.
