MIDTOWN — A systems analyst who had recently lost a bitter custody battle tossed his 3-year-old son off a 51-story Midtown high-rise Sunday morning, then jumped to his death an hour before he was supposed to return the boy back to his mother, police said.

Dmitriy Kanarikov, 35, of Brooklyn, picked up his son Kirill Kanarikov, 3, from the boy's mother at the 17th Precinct stationhouse, at 10 a.m., and was supposed to bring him back at 1 p.m., police said.

Instead, Kanarikov, who lost custody of the boy recently after splitting with his wife Svetlana earlier this year, went to the roof of a relative's building at 124 W. 60th St. just before noon, and threw the boy from the building before leaping himself, police sources said. Investigators do not believe the two fell together because their bodies were found in separate locations.
