BROOKLYN — Icy roads led to a massive pile up on the Gowanus Expressway involving about 20 vehicles Tuesday night, a police spokesman said.
After a day of snow and with temperatures dipping to approximately 25 degrees, the vehicles slammed into each other about 8:20 p.m. near Sixth Street, according to The Weather Channel and NYPD.
Six people were taken to Lutheran hospital while three others were taken to Staten Island University Hospital. All were treated for minor injuries, the FDNY said.
