BROOKLYN — Five people were hurt and taken to area hospitals after a crash involving two cars under the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Tuesday morning, witnesses and an FDNY spokesman said.

Passengers hobbled away from their two badly damaged cars after they collided on Meeker Avenue near Graham Avenue about 6 a.m., witnesses and officials said.

The five people were taken to Bellevue, Elmhurst, and Woodhull hospitals, the spokesman added.
