NEW YORK CITY — While you enjoy your turkey and stuffing this Thanksgiving, remember to be thankful for some of the great musicians who have helped us celebrate through the years.

While Thanksgiving may not have its own "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" or "Frosty the Snowman," there are plenty of great songs to get you into the holiday spirit. And DNAinfo New York has compiled a playlist of some of our favorites.

Some songs are explicitly about the holiday, like the great Vince Guaraldi's "Thanksgiving Theme" from 1973's "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," and Mount Eerie's "Thanksgiving."

Others represent some universal Thanksgiving themes, like Sam and Dave's classic "I Thank You," and Dee Dee Sharp's upbeat R&B groove "Gravy (For My Mashed Potatoes)."

We've even given a shout-out to our brothers and sisters to the north — including DNAinfo's own Mathew Katz — with "Canadian Thanksgiving," by Graham Wright, keyboardist from Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, indie rock band Tokyo Police Club.

So enjoy this playlist while you're on that second helping of mashed potatoes, and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
