UPPER WEST SIDE — Folk singer Arlo Guthrie will headline the holiday Winter's Eve festival set for Dec. 2 in Lincoln Square, organizers announced.

Guthrie is a last-minute addition after Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell pulled out of the festival this week because of "unforeseen scheduling conflicts," according to the Lincoln Square BID. Actress Bebe Neuwirth, also shceduled to headline the event, cancelled earlier this fall, the BID added.

The 66-year-old folk singer is the son of Woodie Guthrie and is known for his social protest songs. At the festival, where he also performed in 2011, he'll be playing holiday songs, the BID noted.

"We are thrilled to welcome back a Winter's Eve favorite, Arlo Guthrie to headline our main stage for the 14th annual festival," said Lincoln Square BID president Monica Blum.

The festival, which runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m., features live music scattered across Lincoln Square and food from 33 local restaurants in booths lining the streets.

The tree lighting and Guthrie performance will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Dante Park at Columbus and West 64th Street.
