LIVINGSTON — The Staten Island Museum will host a workshop Saturday to help residents understand the history of their old homes.

The workshop will be lead by Barnett Shepherd, the executive director of the Preservation League of Staten Island, where he will show people how to dig up information on their historic homes, the museum said.

Shepherd will lay out what information is available to research the homes, including books, maps, atlases and county records, and where you can find them.

He will be joined by Biel DeFillo, archival assistant at the Staten Island Historical Society Library, and the Staten Island Museum's archivist Cara Delatte, who will show people how to find records in the museum's archives.

"How to Research Your Staten Island Home" will be on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Staten Island Museum History Center at Snug Harbor. Tickets are $15 or $10 for Preservation League, museum and Historic Richmond Town members.
