Service Changes to Disrupt 12 Subway Lines This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — Weekend construction may send an autumn chill through commuters due to service changes to 12 subway lines.

Maintenance work and construction, including Sandy recovery work on Brooklyn’s Court Street, will bring changes to the 4, 7, A, C, D, E, F, G, M, N, R lines and one S shuttle.

Here’s the breakdown per line:

Church Street-bound trains will skip 4th Avenue-9th Street, 15th Street-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

4 Train: There will not be service between Woodlawn and 161st Street-Yankee Stadium between 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Commuters can transfer to the D train at 161st Street-Yankee Stadium for service between 167th Street, 170th Street, Mount Eden Avenue, 176th Street, Burnside Avenue, 183rd Street, Fordham Park, and Kingsbridge Road.

Free shuttle buses between Bedford Park Boulevard, Mosholu Parkway, and Woodlawn will be available.

7 Train: Time Square-bound trains will run express between Willets Point to Queensboro Plaza from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Trains will stop at Junction Boulevard and 61st Street-Woodside.

A Train: Brooklyn-bound trains will run local from 125th Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

There will be no service between Howard Beach-JFK Airport and Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue from 5:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday. Trains will operate between Inwood-207th Street and Howard Beach-JFK Airport or Lefferts Boulevard.

Shuttles will run between Rockaway Park and Far Rockaway. There will be free around-the-clock shuttles between Howard Beach-JFK Airport and Far Rockaway via the Nassau Expressway. Customers may transfer between trains and free shuttle buses at Howard Beach-JFK Airport, Far Rockaway or Rockaway Park. 

Also, Brooklyn-bound trains will from express from 168th Street to 125th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday night and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday. They will also run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street during those times.

C Train: Euclid Avenue-bound trains will run express between 168th Street to 125th Street and between 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

E Train: WTC-bound trains will run express from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Queens Plaza from 11:45 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights and from 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday night.

Additionally, the WTC-bound train will skip Van Wyck Boulevard and 75th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

D Train: Coney Island-bound trains will run local from 145th Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Train: Coney Island-bound trains will be rerouted via M line from Roosevelt Avenue to 47th-50th Street from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Also during that time, Jamaica-bound trains will run express from West 4th Street to 34th Street-Herald Square.

Additionally, Coney Island-bound trains will skip Sutphin Boulevard, Van Wyck Boulevard, and 75th Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. They will also skip 4th Avenue-9th Street, 15th Street-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway during that time.

G Train: Church Avenue-bound trains will skip 4th Avenue-9th Street, 15th Street-Prospect Park, and Fort Hamilton Parkway from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

M Train: Service will be suspended form 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will run and make all station stops between Metropolitan and Myrtle Avenues.

N Train: There are no N trains running between Court Street in Brooklyn and Whitehall Street in Manhattan. Late night N service will be rerouted over the Manhattan Bridge.

R Train: There are no R trains running between Court Street in Brooklyn and Whitehall Street in Manhattan. Weekend R service will be rerouted over the Manhattan Bridge.

Also, Bay ridge-bound trains will run express from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Queens Plaza from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

S (Rockaway Park Shuttle): No service between Broad Channel and Beach 90th Street from 5:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.
