BROOKLYN — A woman was dragged down a Sunset Park street as a man tried to pry away her purse Tuesday night, the NYPD said.

The 46-year-old woman, whose identity was not released, was walking past 847 57th St., near Eighth Avenue, when a man ran up behind her and grabbed her bag about 11:15 p.m., police said.

She refused to let go so he dragged her several feet, which can be seen in surveillance footage released by police.

The thief eventually wrended the bag away from her and fled, police said.

The woman was treated at Maimonides Hospital for abraisions on her head and back, the NYPD said.

Investigators believe her attacker was about 20-years-old, 5-foot-10 and 140 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
