STATEN ISLAND — Police are looking for a man they said stole four cars from outside Staten Island gyms between September and October.

Marc Steinberg, 43, is accused of grabbing keys hanging from a rack behind the front desk at several gyms, finding the cars they belonged to and driving away.

The suspect first hit the Retro Fitness at 2385 Richmond Ave., on Saturday Sept. 28. Steinberg grabbed the keys from a 2007 Toyota RAV-4 and drove away around 6 p.m., police said.

Steinberg then allegedly hit the Retro Fitness on 2965 Veterans Road West on Oct. 4 and Oct. 15, taking a 2009 Honda Odyssey and a 2012 Toyota Camry.

The last car Steinberg took was on Oct. 17, when he took a 2007 Audi A4 from a person working out at Synergy Fitness at 77 Richmond Hill Rd., police said.

The keys racks are apparently used to hold keys by some members as they worked out.

Police described Steinberg as 5-foot 6 and 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
