BUSHWICK — A luxury rental boasting a "Speakeasy" music lounge and a screening room is looking to serve the not-so-starving artists of Bushwick.
The new 120-unit building dubbed Colony 1209 on Dekalb Avenue is launching its rentals this weekend, with studios starting at $1,750, the broker said.
A landscaped courtyard, furnished roof deck, billiard lounge and fitness center are also included in the development, said David Maundrell, president of Aptsandlofts.com.
Meanwhile the "Speakeasy" lounge will feature rehearsal studios, a vintage pinball arcade and even a shuffle board, Maundrell said of the new building across from Bushwick Leaders High School near the Central Avenue M train stop.
"It's a game-changer for this neighborhood," Maundrell said of the building's high-end amenities.
He said that in the past two weeks he'd already received 200 appointment requests to look at the apartments.
"Ultimately folks [in Bushwick] are very interested in community and that's what we're trying to offer," said Maundrell. "We've had an enormous response to the price."
