MIDTOWN — The juice is loose in Midtown.

A new juice bar, Pulp, has opened on West 36th Street, serving 18 sugar-free and dairy-free organic juices, smoothies and shots, made mostly from produce farmed upstate.

"We're trying to deliver healthy food options for the nine-to-five crowd," manager Matt James said, as reggae tunes played from speakers overhead. "Also show a little bit of heart, which you don't get in the chains anymore."

Selections range from $6.50 for "Citrus Sensation" juice made from grapefruit, peaches and apples, to $9.99 for "The Super Green," a cold-pressed juice composed of apples, pears, kale, cucumbers, celery, cilantro and lemon.

A selection of coffee, teas, salads and vegan cookies are also available, and James said that Pulp will begin serving soups as the weather gets colder. It officially opened on Sept. 23.

Pulp, an offshoot of Suite 36 restaurant and sports bar, is located at 16. W. 36th St. It offers delivery via Seamless, and those who work in the neighborhood can receive a 10 percent discount on visits.
