BRONX — Police seized more than 70 pot plants during a sting at a University Heights grow lab, police sources said.

The operation, carried out jointly by the 33rd and 52nd precincts on Sept. 20, led to the arrests of four men who were growing the plants — including 40 8-foot plants — with a total value of $7,000, sources said.

Operating on a tip from an informant, officers from the 33rd precinct's Field Intelligence Unit in Washington Heights raided the building at 2290 Davidson Ave. about 6:45 p.m., where they caught three of the men in the act of shearing the plants and collecting the shavings in buckets, police said.

Upon further inspection, officers found 30 baby plants hidden behind a false wall in the basement, as well as lamps, thermostats, scales and water hoses, sources added.

The total amount of drugs seized weighed in at more than 200 pounds, police sources said.
