BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 2 will soon be home to a roller rink, officials announced.

The park is currently looking for an operator to run the 13,200-square-foot rink complete with player boxes, bleachers, rentable lockers, skate equipment and nearby vending machines.

“Brooklyn Bridge Park looks forward to bringing quality operators to the park and creating exciting new amenities for visitors to enjoy,” said Regina Myer, president of Brooklyn Bridge Park, in a statement.

The new rink will be housed under a steel-framed warehouse on the pier and will sit alongside basketball, handball and bocce courts, plus swings, picnic tables and fitness equipment.

Construction on the Pier 2 rink is scheduled to finish in early 2014.

Park officials are also in search of companies to operate a new marina and food concessions on Pier 5.
