UPPER EAST SIDE — Upper East Side resident Arlene Dahl has Hollywood glamour — and the wardrobe to show for it.

Dahl, who appeared in "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and numerous other films during the 1950s, will sell about 250 of her sartorial favorites to raise funds for the blind and vision-impaired.

Dahl donated evening gowns, furs, hats and costume jewelry to Lighthouse International's POSH fall Fashion Sale, which begins Thursday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. Lighthouse is a more than century-old nonprofit based on the Upper East Side deidcated to the fighting and treatment of vision loss.

The actress, who has appeared in more than 50 films and 130 television shows, decided to "edit" her wardrobe after moving between Upper East Side apartments.

"I had jewelry, scarves, belts, shoes and evening clothes — a lot of things I no longer had use for that either didn't fit or that I didn't wear anymore," said Dahl, who starred alongside Bob Hope in "Here Come the Girls."

Many of these items were worn in one or more of her film projects, said Dahl, who also played Lucinda Schenk Wilson on the soap opera "One Life to Live" from 1981 to 1984.

Dahl is even selling one of her most beloved garments — an emerald green chiffon gown she wore in a Broadway production of "Applause."

Marc Rosen, Dahl's husband and the longtime organizer of the clothing sale benefit, said shoppers can expect to see a "retro dressing table" alongside the items, plus a TV screen showing one of Dahl's films.

Rosen, a perfume bottle designer, explained that some of the items up for grabs will be slightly used, but others are brand-new garments donated by designers.

"Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Prada, Hermès — just about every designer you can think of," he said.

Approximately 2,000 shoppers patronized the last POSH event, which took place in May.

In addition to the two New York events, a POSH party will take place in Palm Beach, Rosen said.

The last two popular New York sales — and the event in Palm beach — raised $1.5 million for Lighthouse, Rosen said.

"People actually line up around the block tomorrow morning before the sale starts," he said. "It's a very exciting sale."
